Lucille Simkin’s Brownies (75)

Yields: 6 Servings

Ingredients:

½ lb. butter
3 oz. Unsweetened Chocolate
½ Cup Flour
1 Cup Sugar
3 Eggs
2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
½ Cup Walnuts – Coarsely Chopped (optional)
Butter for pan
Powdered Sugar


1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Melt the butter and chocolate together. Allow to cool.

3. Mix Flour and sugar.

4. Pour cooled chocolate mixture over the flour mixture, beat in eggs 1 at a time, until fudgy and shiny. Add vanilla. Add walnuts if desired.

5. Butter a 9-inch square pan and pour in batter. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cut into squares while hot, then allow to cool in pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool.
