Lemon Nut Bread (83)

1 ½ Cups Flour
1 Tsp. Baking Powder
Butter for pan
2 Eggs – Beaten
¼ lb. Butter – Melted
1 Cup Sugar
½ Cup Walnuts – Chopped
1 Lemon – Grated Zest


1 Large Lemon – For Juice
1/3 Cup Sugar

1. Butter a 8 ½ x 4 ½ x 2 ½ inch loaf pan. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Sift together the flour and baking powder. Add eggs, butter, sugar, a dash of salt and lemon zest and beat together well.

3. Pour into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.

4. While bread is still hot, mix together lemon juice and sugar for the glaze and pour over the bread. Then cool thoroughly before removing from the pan.
